- See also DirectX Hacks.
[edit] Camera Fix
UVC EEPROM Flash Utility - Some have reported this utility provided by Raon to fix camera activation issues.
[edit] Linux
Here you can find information and downloads for Linux on the Everun Note.
[edit] Processor Driver
The default AMD K8 module provided does not work properly on the Everun Note, below is working source for the module.
- [1] - May not compile on newer kernels.
[edit] Optimization
- cpupowerd - A processor scaling daemon for AMD K8 processors, can be used to change both voltage and frequency of the processor.
- sysv-rc-conf - A tool for managing runlevel links. (Configures boot scripts)
- Ubuntu Tweak - A rather nice utility for configuring the GNOME desktop in Ubuntu.
[edit] Wireless Drivers
It should also be noted that the Linux wireless drivers have two components, the firmware and the kernel module. The last driver released by Marvell is designed for Fedora Core 8 and the module will not compile on newer kernels. Much work has been done, but the default wireless module released with the Linux kernel still has some issues.
Some have reported better stability with v8.73.7
[edit] Custom Kernels
Ubuntu 9.04
[edit] ATI Catalyst (FGLRX)
Unfortunately, Catalyst 9.4 has dropped support for the GPU used in the Everun Note. Ubuntu 9.04 distributions also have a newer X Server (1.6), which Catalyst 9.3 does not support.
If you wish to use the official ATI drivers, you must either downgrade the X Server or use a linux distribution that includes X Server 1.5.
